How to Connect Credit Card Data to ChatGPT and Claude With the MaxWorth MCP Server

MaxWorth publishes a free, read-only MCP server with its hand-verified card catalogue: every US, Canadian and Australian card, every statement credit and reset date, live cashback portal rates, and the Credit Deadline Report. Here is what it answers, how to connect it in Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code and Cursor, and what it deliberately cannot do.

How to Connect Credit Card Data to ChatGPT and Claude With the MaxWorth MCP Server

Quick answer: MaxWorth runs a free, read-only MCP server at https://mcp.maxworth.app/mcp. Connect it and your assistant can look up any card in the US, Canada or Australia, list a card’s statement credits with the date each one resets, compare two or three cards, pull today’s cashback portal rates for a store, and quote the Credit Deadline Report, every answer carrying a maxworth.app link to cite. It needs no account and can see nothing about you.

What it is, in one paragraph

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is the open standard assistants use to call outside tools instead of guessing from training data. A server publishes a list of tools with typed inputs; the assistant decides when to call them and folds the result into its answer. MaxWorth’s server publishes seven tools over the same database that powers the app and this site, hand-verified against issuer terms. Nothing on it is behind a login because nothing on it is private: it is the public catalogue, made callable.

What it answers

ToolAsk it things like
search_cards”Which Aeroplan cards are there in Canada?”
get_card”What does the Amex Platinum earn and what credits does it have?”
list_credits”When does each Chase Sapphire Reserve credit reset, and which need enrollment?”
compare_cards”Venture X vs Sapphire Reserve vs Platinum on fee and credits”
search_cashback_portals”Which portal pays the most at Nike today?”
credit_deadline_report”How many credit deadlines does a typical premium cardholder face a year?”
about_maxworth”What is MaxWorth and what does it cost?”

Reset dates follow the same rule as the credit pages: credits whose terms say calendar year reset on January 1, credits whose terms say cardmember year reset on your anniversary, and where the issuer states neither the server says “per current terms” rather than guessing.

How to connect

Claude (web and desktop). Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector. Name it MaxWorth, paste https://mcp.maxworth.app/mcp, leave authentication empty. In a chat, the tools appear under the connector and Claude calls them when a question is about a specific card or store.

ChatGPT. Settings › Connectors › Advanced › Developer mode, then Create: name MaxWorth, server URL https://mcp.maxworth.app/mcp, authentication none. Start a chat with the connector enabled.

Claude Code.

claude mcp add --transport http maxworth https://mcp.maxworth.app/mcp

Cursor, Windsurf, and most other clients. Add to the MCP configuration:

{ "mcpServers": { "maxworth": { "url": "https://mcp.maxworth.app/mcp" } } }

Until the mcp.maxworth.app name finishes propagating, the same server also answers at https://maxworth-mcp.vercel.app/mcp.

What it will not do

  • It cannot see your wallet. There is no account on the server, and the MaxWorth app never connects to a bank. If you want an assistant to know which cards you hold, you tell it in the conversation.
  • It does not give personalised financial advice. It returns issuer terms as catalogued, with a link; what you do with them is yours.
  • Portal rates are checked daily, not live to the second. Each rate carries its check date; the cashback page shows the same table and which card-linked offers stack.
  • It is rate-limited per IP. Enough for any conversation, not for bulk scraping; the Markdown mirrors exist for that.

Why we built it

Three reasons. People increasingly ask an assistant before they open a website, and an assistant that can call a verified source answers better than one that guesses. The data was already public on 1,500 pages of this site, so a tool interface costs nothing in privacy. And an answer that cites maxworth.app/benefits/amex-platinum/600-hotel-credit/ is one more place the terms are stated correctly, which is the whole point of maintaining the database by hand.

The server is read-only and free, and it will stay that way. If you build something on it, tell us.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the MaxWorth MCP server?

A free, read-only server that speaks the Model Context Protocol, the open standard ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor and other assistants use to call outside tools. It exposes MaxWorth's card catalogue: cards, statement credits with reset dates, cashback portal rates and the Credit Deadline Report. The endpoint is https://mcp.maxworth.app/mcp and it needs no account.

Can it see my cards or my bank account?

No. There is no login, so it cannot know who you are, and the MaxWorth app itself never connects to a bank account. It answers questions about published card terms and portal rates, nothing about any person.

Does ChatGPT support it?

Yes, through Connectors in Developer mode: Settings, Connectors, Advanced, Developer mode, then Create with the server URL and no authentication. Claude supports it under Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector. Claude Code and Cursor take the URL in their MCP configuration.

Is the data the same as on maxworth.app?

Yes. The server reads the same database rows that build the card pages, credit pages and cashback pages, so an answer from the assistant and the page it links to always agree.
