Privacy Policy

Last updated August 16, 2026 · Covers the MaxWorth browser extension. The MaxWorth iOS app has its own privacy policy, linked inside the app.

The short version

The extension reads the card offers shown on your own American Express and Chase pages and syncs them to your MaxWorth account so your devices show the same picture. On shopping sites it tells you the cashback available at that store. It never sees your banking credentials, card numbers, balances or transactions, it does not track your browsing, and we do not sell data to anyone.

What we collect

Account identity. If you sign in (optional — public cashback data works without an account), Google or Apple sign-in shares your email address with us to create your MaxWorth account. We never see your Google or Apple password.

Card offers. When you sync on an American Express or Chase page, the extension reads the offers displayed there — merchant, description, expiry, activation status — together with the card's display name and last four digits, and stores them in your MaxWorth account so the iOS app and the extension stay in sync.

Usage events. The extension records anonymous, write-only product events (for example that the shopping widget was shown or minimised, and the matched store's name). These contain no browsing history and cannot be read back by any client.

Browsing privacy on shopping sites

The shopping widget decides whether a store is supported entirely on your device, against a bundled list of covered merchants. The address of the page you are on is never sent to our servers. Only when a store matches does the extension request that one store's cashback rates. The merchant list itself is refreshed once a day — a request that contains no personal data.

What we never collect

Banking usernames or passwords, full card numbers, account balances, transactions, purchase history, or your browsing history. The extension runs its account features only on americanexpress.com and chase.com, and shows cashback information only on stores in its merchant list.

Where your data lives

Account and offer data are stored with Supabase (our database and authentication provider) in the United States. Google and Apple are used solely for sign-in. Your session and preferences (such as hiding the widget on a site) are kept in your browser's extension storage, on your device. We use no advertising or data-broker services of any kind.

Deleting your data

You can delete your MaxWorth account — including all synced offers and cards — from the MaxWorth iOS app (Settings → Delete Account), or by emailing us at the address below. Uninstalling the extension removes everything stored in your browser.

This website

maxworth.app itself stores your favorited stores in your browser's local storage (never uploaded), records anonymous aggregate events such as searches with no results, and collects your email only if you subscribe to the newsletter.
