Protections (4)
Car Rental Insurance
Secondary car rental loss and damage insurance covering rental car damage or theft up to $50,000 per rental agreement. Also covers accidental injury, accidental death or dismemberment, and personal property damage. Secondary coverage means you must file with any other insurance first.
Purchase Protection
Purchase protection covering eligible items purchased with the card against accidental physical damage or theft for up to 90 days from the date of purchase, up to $1,000 per item and $50,000 per cardholder per year.
Extended Warranty
Extended warranty coverage that adds up to one extra year to the original manufacturer's warranty of 5 years or less. Coverage up to $10,000 per item and $50,000 per year. Items must be purchased entirely with the card.
Return Protection
When you try to return a new, working item purchased entirely with the card and the merchant won't accept the return within 90 days of purchase, American Express may refund the full purchase price (excluding shipping and handling). Up to $300 per item and $1,000 per account each calendar year.
