What your points are worth

Membership Rewards is worth the most when you transfer to airline partners, and Amex has one of the longest airline lists of any bank. Cashing out is weak: statement credits and most Amex Travel bookings return less than 1 cent per point. Business Platinum holders get an extra option, a 35% rebate on flights paid with points.

Good to know

Expiration
Membership Rewards points don't expire. If you cancel your last card linked to the account, all points are forfeited immediately, so redeem or transfer them first.
Pooling and sharing
All your enrolled Amex cards share one Membership Rewards account. Points can't move to another person's account, but you can transfer them to an Additional Card Member's own airline or hotel account once their card is at least 90 days old.
